The Spreadsheet Frame will appear in a moment if you are using a Java enabled browser. This is where you will select Columns to plot against each other and control formatting. Expect frequent changes!
To get started, select `New Run Query' from the File menu in the Spreadsheet Frame. Shortly after that a µSR Database Search frame should appear.
Now enter a query. Try something simple but specific like
year: 1997
area: M13
run: 10101
When you click on Submit Query a Result Runs frame
should soon appear showing any runs from the database matching
your query. (If your query is too loose this may take a while to
load, so think first!)
The buttons on the left allow you to pick the run you want to look at.
When you click one, a Run Data frame will pop up.
If this is indeed the run you want, click on Get Histograms.
This will pop up (after a moment) the Histogram Headers frame
(currently mistitled Run Headers but that will change soon,
along with so many other features of this interface that there is
little point in going into detail now.)
Be sure to enter firstBin, lastBin, packing to tell what bin range you would like packed by what factor for your plots. (Later on t1_ns, t2_ns, dt_ns will take precedence, but for now just use the bin numbers.)
Select the type of spectrum you want generated and click on the Retrieve button. This will pop up a Dialog frame where you can select which Histogram(s) you want; then when you click on OK, if everything goes well you should have two new columns from which to generate a plot. These will automatically be loaded into a new Plot Frame and displayed.
The Plot menu in the Spreadsheet frame has an Options command you can play with to get everything (point type, size, colour, connecting line etc.) just the way you like, but not all its features are working yet.
You can put more than one plot on the same graph, or break the plot frame up into several "tiles" with different plots in each, by playing with the Frame menu and the associated controls in the Spreadsheet. Have fun!
